Field Performance of Thin-Film Photovoltaics
Author(s): Magnanil Goswami, Cheviti Sudheer
Page(s): 273-277
Abstract

Fluctuating irradiance, spectral, and temperature characteristics causes a wide sweep in the outdoor performance of thin-film photovoltaics (TFPVs). In order to forecast the outdoor behavior of such TFPV modules it is customary to develop empirical models augmented from measured datasheets, which in-turn leads to key performance insights of these modules. The impending discourse is dictated by this motive at the first place, followed by an analysis of real-time results comprising of data procured from various locations by dint of standard approaches. Analysis of spectral behavior based on measured and simulated spectra are also discussed in this context.

Keyword: Air mass, FOF, PV, Spectral irradiance, Temperature, Thin-film.

Page(s): 284-287
Abstract

Automation of descriptive answer evaluation process would be helpful for various universities and academic institute to efficiently handle the assessment of exam answer sheets of students. An automatic answer checker application that checks and remarks written answer similar to human being. The purpose of this system is to automate the old fashioned manual system and introduce automatic evaluation of marks in much faster and accurate way. The system requires you to store original answer (i.e. sample answer paper) for the system to perform semantic analysis. By representing the descriptive answer in the form of paragraph and comparing it with standard answer are the key steps in our approach. The similarity obtained from semantic analysis is then normalized to obtain the final resultant score of answer..

Comparative Performance Evaluation of FFT-PCA Human Palmprint Identification
Author(s): Pratibha, Satnam Singh Dub, Bhanu Gupta
Page(s): 288-295
Abstract

The paper aims towards development of FFT-PCA Human Palmprint Identification Application using MATLAB which is tested on three different databases available for palmprint recognition. Also the comparisons of the tested results are made for achieving accuracy and efficiency for its versatility of operation over a global population. The testing on CASIA Palmprint Database Dataset1 resulted in a % accuracy performance of 98.125%. The IIT Delhi Database results show a slightly lower % accuracy performance of 94.375%. The Hong Kong PolyU Database has testing shows slightly higher % accuracy performance of 96.25% than IITD Palmprint Database and slightly lower % accuracy than CASIA Palmprint Database. The FFT-PCA palmprint recognition application shows considerably better performance when tested on CASIA Palmprint Database (Dataset1) and PolyU Palmprint Database (Dataset3) than IITD Database (Dataset3) with %accuracy deficit rate of 3.75% and 1.875 respectively.

Abstract

Assembly line is the key function to get the mass production. The research has been done for assembly line balancing with various studies. Assembly is the important process for manufactured goods insight where parts and subassemblies are incorporated together to form the end products. As product variety increases due to the shift from mass production to mass customization, the time factor is an important parameter. In this paper introduce the challenges of design and execution with respect to the time study.

Keyword: Product realization, mass customization, disassemble and installation.

Author(s): Phatnista Naranon, Mahadzirah Mohamad
Page(s): 305-316
Abstract

In this regard tourism is an increasingly important source of economic expansion, income, employment creation for local people and wealth in many countries. In Krabi province of Thailand, large numbers of tourist arrivals have been rapidly and significantly impacted the increasing number of hotels that have boosted the tourism receipts. In Krabi province of Thailand, tourist arrivals have been increasing and bring about an increasing number of hotels that have boosted the tourism receipts. However, it also comes with its negative impact on environmental, economic and social-cultural well-being. Thus, the purpose of this study is to improve sustainable tourism development. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of community participation on sustainable tourism development. A quantitative method was conducted using self-administered questionnaires, a total of 286 hotel managers were selected using simple random sampling from two districts namely, MueangKrabi and Ko Lanta. Exploratory factor analysis was performed using statistical package for social science (SPSS)program software version 21 and then confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was done to assess the multidimensionality, validity and reliability of the theoretical constructs. Structural equation model (SEM) using the analysis of moment structures (AMOS) software version 21 was applied to the dataset to test the proposed hypotheses. The result of the study found that community participation does not have a significant positive effect on sustainable tourism development. The finding of the study contributed to the theoretical implication which proposed a new structural model that examined the relationships between community participation and sustainable tourism development.Future research suggests enhancing the present model by proposing along with community participation and community-based tourism on sustainable tourism development among hotel manager toin terms of long-term sustainability.
