Abstract :

Wireless communication system includes a number of wireless devices so that it has lack of spectrum usages. The communication system meets spectrum scarcity; the cognitive radio (CR) is promising technology which provides smart solution to spectrum scarcity problem. The static channel allocation system leads to congestion. There is quality of service and delay issues are also included in cognitive radio network (CRN). The primary goal of CR is to improve the spectrum utilization by secondary users (SUs) when primary users (PUs) become idle. In this paper, we can propose to design efficient MAC protocol for CR to improve throughput and minimize the packet transmission delay. The simulation result provides better performance with the metrics as throughput, delay and packet delivery ratio.
