Effective communication is a fundamental function of Human Resource Management (HRM) because it connects employees, managers, and organizational leadership. This research paper examines the role of effective communication in HRM and explains how clear, timely, two-way, and transparent communication influences employee engagement, trust, conflict management, performance, organizational culture, and retention. The study adopts a conceptual and descriptive research approach based on secondary literature, established HRM concepts, and communication research. The paper discusses major communication channels used in organizations, including face-to-face communication, written communication, digital platforms, feedback systems, meetings, and employee communication initiatives. It also identifies common barriers such as information overload, ambiguity, language differences, hierarchical distance, poor listening, technological limitations, and lack of feedback. The findings from the reviewed literature indicate that communication effectiveness is closely associated with positive employee attitudes and better HR outcomes. The paper concludes that HR professionals should develop structured communication systems, strengthen managerial listening and feedback skills, use digital tools responsibly, and promote an open communication culture. Effective communication should therefore be treated not merely as an administrative activity but as a strategic HR capability that supports organizational effectiveness.
