📝 Abstract
Employee well-being and mental health have become important areas of concern for organizations because employees' psychological and emotional conditions directly influence their performance, productivity, job satisfaction, motivation, and intention to remain with an organization. The modern workplace is characterized by increasing workloads, technological changes, performance pressure, long working hours, job insecurity, and the need to continuously adapt to changing business environments. These factors can affect employees' mental health and overall well-being.
This research paper examines the major factors influencing employee well-being and mental health in the modern workplace. The study focuses on workplace stress, workload, work-life balance, organizational support, jobsatisfaction, relationships with colleagues and managers, and access to mental-health-related support. The study also considers the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) practices in creating a healthier and more supportive work environment.
A descriptive research design is proposed for the study. Primary data can be collected through a structured questionnaire from employees working in different organizations. Secondary information can be collected from research papers, books, reports, journals, and reliable organizational sources. The collected data can be analyzed using percentage analysis, mean scores, and other appropriate statistical techniques.
The study is expected to show that employee well-being is influenced not by a single factor but by a combination of organizational, job-related, interpersonal, and personal factors. Organizations that provide supportive leadership, reasonable workloads, work-life balance, recognition, communication, and appropriate employee assistance can contribute positively to employee mental health and organizational effectiveness.
