Autonomous enterprises increasingly combine Artificial Intelligence, Agentic AI, automation, event-driven platforms, digital twins, data products, and intelligent decision services to execute business processes with reduced manual intervention. Traditional enterprise architecture methods are often insufficient when systems can plan, reason, act, learn, and coordinate dynamically across organizational boundaries. This paper proposes an Enterprise Architecture for Autonomous Enterprises framework that aligns business capabilities, operating models, data, applications, integration, AI, security, governance, and human oversight. The framework introduces architectural principles for bounded autonomy, policy-driven execution, decision rights, digital workforce governance, real-time observability, resilience, and continuous assurance. It also defines reference layers, implementation stages, governance gates, and measurable outcomes. The proposed approach enables organizations to scale autonomous operations while maintaining accountability, interoperability, trust, regulatory readiness, and business control.
