Technology has become an integral part of modern Human Resource Management (HRM), changing how organizations attract, select, develop, evaluate, engage, and retain employees. Digital HR platforms, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), cloud-based applications, people analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, chatbots, and learning management systems have moved HR from largely administrative work toward more data-driven and strategic decision-making. This research paper examines the role of technology in HRM through a descriptive review of academic literature and professional HR research. The paper focuses on technology-enabled recruitment and selection, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, employee engagement, workforce planning, payroll and attendance, and HR analytics. The review indicates that technology can improve speed, process consistency, accessibility, employee experience, and evidence-based decision-making. At the same time, effective adoption requires attention to data privacy, cybersecurity, algorithmic bias, transparency, employee acceptance, digital skills, system integration, and the continued use of human judgment. The paper concludes that technology should be treated as an enabler of HR effectiveness rather than a replacement for responsible human decision-making. A balanced human–technology approach can help organizations achieve operational efficiency while maintaining fairness, trust, inclusion, and employee well-being.
