The collection takes its cue from the beautiful depths of the ocean to apply to a sustainable, thoughtful line of fashion for teenagers. This research utilized a qualitative and design based approach over 4 iterative phases: Research and Inspiration, Concept Development, Design Implementation and Evaluation. Visuals stemming from the ocean such as seashells, jellyfish, starfish, pearls and the texture of fish scales formed the focal point of reference points, combining these images through design to be wearable art. Eco-friendly materials, such as organic cotton and recycled polyester, were used, along with a thoughtful profile of techniques such hand-embroidery, appliqué, digital printing and tie-dye, coupled to develop unique textures associated with the likeness of the ocean .The survey results and inner expert review, demonstrated the success of the collection in providing a balance of creativity, comfort and sustainability aligning with teenagers desire for stylish yet responsible clothing. Moreover, research illustrates that fashion can instigate an intersection of artistic imagination and awareness of an ecology and the act of being sustainable in consumer lifestyle habits. Ultimately, Shimmering Shoreline encapsulates a symbolic connection of nature, design based innovation and social responsibly with the beautiful nature of ocean influence and acceptance from a culture of young wearers contributing to sustainability in fashion.
