📝 Abstract
The present study was carried out to assess the diversity of freshwater fishes in Kuppanatham dam, Chengam taluk, Thirvannamalai district, Tamilnadu, during August 2025 to January 2026. Monthly fish samples were collected. A total of 20 fish species belonging to 11 families and 8 order, Cypriniformes was found to be dominant. This study helps in evaluating the ecological health of the dam ecosystem through fish diversity patterns.
