International Journal of Scientific Research and Engineering Development

In the present study an existing aqua silencer has been modified by providing an extended perforated metallic tube with a provision to hold activated charcoal and also a lime water container. The change in the concentration of carbon monoxide and hydro carbons due to these added provisions has been investigated in the present study. It is found that there is a highly significant reduction in the concentrations of these materials in the final exhaust gas. Future studies are recommended for realising further improvements.
